The evening before I shot this had little color. That was a good thing, because there were quite a few people out enjoying the lake. Unfortunately even walking on logs that jut into the water can cause ripples, and with a lot of people around it's hard to get a clear reflection. (...and don't get me started on kayakers who seem to think that pulling in to shore and splashing as they load is best done at peak color...)
The next morning, which was a Monday, I was blessed to have the place to myself.
I took this the day before our Elections here in the United States in 2016. The mix of red and blue, and the split between South Sister and Broken Top, seemed to be a fitting metaphor for what was to come.
