In August of 2013 I was camping with my wife's family at the Chris Park Group Campground north of Durango, Colorado. I spent the day exploring compositions around Molas Pass, but by the time the Golden Hour arrived the wind was raging and the light was poor. Disappointed, I headed back down the hill. As I neared the family, the sky exploded with color. I dashed to Haviland Lake, near where we were camping, screeched to a halt, and jump out of the car to capture this scene.
