In early August of 2019, while backpacking with several buddies on Mount Rainier, I battled a lot of fog rolling in and out of the vistas I was trying to photograph. On the third day I found this patch of Monkeyflowers I thought would make a nice foreground. When I returned that evening, I was blessed to not only catch the mountain exposed, but nice sunset color as well.
